Chakra Balancing/ Meditative Issues?

March 11, 2010

Always been very attuned to observing my consciousness. Started meditating a few weeks ago (have been doing general waking awareness exercises for awhile).

My very first meditating session I stayed in meditation for over an hour. The lower chakras i could not feel or access in any way.

There was great calm from the slowing and dis-identification with thought. Also experienced intense energies and the ability to become aware of my third eye and crown chakras right off the bat. by the end of the session there were dazzling white lights dancing in in the dark field of my consciousness with my physical eyes closed and strong feelings of external pressure, vibration and tingling in between the eyes when I was aware of my third eye chakra, and intense tingling and pressure on my crown coupled with a shifting of the dazzling lights upwards and towards my crown in my field of consciousness.

Over the last few weeks I have unlocked all my chakras, the root chakra being the hardest for me to unlock. Have experienced various, various meditative states so far, and various intense effects on my normal waking consciousness.

Have always been a dreamer not grounded in physical reality – this was also evident from the fact that I could not even get close to feeling the energies of any chakras lower than the throat initially. When I unlocked the lower chakras, I suddenly became alot more grounded, and a very intense sense of will and energy to live vibrantly entered my life.

Various other experiences during meditation include intense awareness of prana instead of breath, intense INTENSE radiating energies from my root chakra through my crown chakra during chakra meditation after unlocking all chakras in succession, ‘falling’ relaxation of body and complete un-resistance of mind, awareness directed at physical body that would slowly start "fusing" body parts together such that my hands stopped being seperate but felt like a new, seemless, single entity in my lap, same with legs, and eventually almost all my body with only the physical sensation in my head, various experiences of intense compassion for the self and the world, various glimpses of satori, and two experiences of complete white lights flooding my body and consciousness from the crown and throwing me into intense bliss.

A setback ive been having, and it is to be expected with intense spiritual ‘addiction’, is the waning ability to get deep into meditation due to wanting it too much and expecting experiences to recreate themselves – which of course allows for nothing to occur as expectation and wanting too much and ’seeking’ are completely the opposite of letting-be, which is what meditative states are about. So I would drop the meditation for a day or two at a time to ease out the intense spiritual insatiability.

But every time I drop the meditation for even a day, my lower chakras and especially my root chakra just close up again. Leaving me feeling really messed up, thrown off balance again into my old space with little grounding in physical reality, and heavy activity remaining in my upper chakras. Even while not meditating, there is the experience of flashes of white light and general glowing/light flashing lightness when the eyes are closed or in darkness.

I seem to keep returning to a state of highly unbalanced overactivity in my crown/third eye chakras, with the complete blocking of my lower chakras and especially the root chakra.

Any ideas on why my lower chakras seem to keep closing and how to go about working with this from here on forth?
Thanks for the response. Ive read about this technique. Cold as hell out here in chicago so I haven’t gone out barefoot and tried this yet, but ill do it.

Also been looking at gemstones..various root chakra stones might help.

Any idea why it keeps locking up on its own this quickly though? I would think its due to some issue/ emotional blockage from the past that I am not currently aware of that keeps locking this chakra when it is not worked upon on a daily basis
To the second poster: haha, fancy that! Ive actually done a chakra cleansing course and talked with Nithyanand about 5 years ago when he wasnt as popular. Hes awesome!

To the last poster, read the full post before answering, you did not answer any of my questions, only what you thought my questions were from apparently reading just the first para or two

One hour is a bit long? Theres no such thing as bit long when it comes to spirituality. Meditation as a "tool" for peace and operating better in the material world is a bastardized modern, western rendition of meditation.

Meditation is the highest and most important act and state in itself, it is not a tool. The longer the meditation, the BETTER, not the worse

Is it possible that my sexual chakra is too energized and overpowers my willpower chakra?

March 10, 2010

Or something like that? How can I balance them out? I feel as though I have too little energy and will power, motivation and focus, but I have plenty of sexual energy, I mean lots. Also, I think it was stimulated too young, due to childhood incidences. I feel as though I have had this problem for a long time.
I have started to meditate and learn about chakra balancing and it is working wonders. Any advice?

I don’t know how much you know about chakra balancing but it realy can help you.
if you can feel the size of your sex chakra and you realize that is too big then try to remove congested energy or clean your chakra with ‘light white orange’

Balancing chakra’s and belly massage?

March 09, 2010

I once had a stomach massage it was divine. I believe its good for water retension? Does anyone know how to do your own belly massage?? also how do you balance chakra’s yourself if you can?

Get yourself a copy of the following book, it is absolutely excellent:

“The Chakra Handbook”

By Shalila Sharamon and Bodo J. Baginski

It covers everything from basic understanding to practical application. A comprehensive guide to harmonising the energy centres with music, colours, gemstones, scents, breathing techniques, reflex zone massage, aspects of nature and meditation.

The book is quite hard to find (I think Amazon sell it) but it is certainly worth the effort.

Chakra balancing, what’s the best method?

March 08, 2010

I’ve read of several methods, and I’d like to see what has worked best for those who have done this. Reading the details of unbalanced chakras, I’m almost positive mine are all screwed up. Over the last few days I’ve just been doing regular meditation and focusing on them, connecting with the same spirit I have been bonding with. She seems to be helping and guiding me through this, and has definitely helped improve my concentration during the process. I’ve also read about balancing them by placing crystals of the appropriate color on each chakra point. Would that speed things up and fully open them more quickly? I don’t have them now, but I could pick some up at a metaphysical store in my area tomorrow or Tuesday. I’ll consider any other methods as well, those two are just the ones I’m most familiar with. this is gonna be long…but I can’t think of a better way for you to try it without knowing the basis of info about chakras, so here we go… the first, or base, chakra is located at the base of the spine. It’s color is red, and it’s main functions are physical survival, stability, energy distribution and practicality. The base chakra is linked to the adrenal glands. the second chakra is situated in the lower abdomen below the navel. it’s color is orange, and it’s functions are creativity, feelings, sexual drive, pleasure and exploration. It is related to the gonads.(stop laughin…:P) the third chakra is located at the solar plexus(just below the ribs) It’s color is yellow and it is associated with the pancreas and spleen. This chakra identifies and assists in the sense of identity self-confidence and personal power. the fourth chakra is located at the center of the chest and associated with the heart and thymus gland. It’s color is green and the heart chakra deals with relationships, personal development, direction and sharing. the fifth chakra is located at the throat by the thyroid glands. It’s color is blue and it’s concerns are with all kinds of communication, personal expression and the flow of information. the sixth chakra (often called the third eye) is in the center of the brow. It’s color is indigo and it is linked to the pineal or pituitary glands. It is concerned with understanding, perception, knowledge, and mental organization. the seventh chakra is located just above the top of the head, linked to the pineal and pituitary glands as well. It’s color is violet, and it maintains overall balance of the chakra systems and channels universal life energy into the system. It maintains a sense of wholeness and stimulates fine levels of perception, intuition and inspiration. now that you know that, what you need to do is meditate. Once you are calm and relaxed into your mediation, imagine each chakra appearing as the appropriate colored light at the areas indicated. Imagine them glowing and swirling, opening and their light suffusing your body. There is no quick way to do this really, it is all about focus and relaxation. Once you have that, you should be able to cleanse and balance your chakras within 30 min or so, but it does take practice. Another way to balance your chakras would be to do the same meditation I mentioned, and then imagine a cascade of white light joining an infusing the swirls of color making them brilliantly bright. Imagine the light cleansing any spots or discolorations and then close each chakra pulling energy into yourself as needed.

Can chakra balancing be harmful some way? I bought a CD to do so, but then felt scared. Maybe I do sth to my?

March 07, 2010

body energy or sth.
I mean a guided CD as it was written on it that it would help stress etc.

Chakra balancing is very good, but you need a master to guide you into it. You will find it difficult to do it by yourself. You dont have to be scared if your CD is very very explicit. There are people who are experienced in balancing the chakras for others.
First you need to balance the Kundalini Shakti, or the Root Chakra. Once you do this then the energy flow will do you good. Then the balancing of other chakras one by one is possible.

The crown chakra is the most difficult to energise as it is possible only for those with spiritual inclination. All saints fall into this category. Often referred as thousand-petaled lotus, it is said to be the most subtle chakra in the system, relating to pure consciousness, and it is from this chakra that all the other chakras emanate. When a yogi is able to raise his or her kundalini, energy of consciousness, up to this point, the state of samadhi, or union with god, is experienced.
The Sahastradhar Chakra or the Crown Chakra is depicted by a lotus flower with a 1000 petals and is located in the centre of the top of the head. This is where the Cosmic energy flows into the body.

The Third Eye chakra or the Ajna Chakra is located between the eyebrows and is the seat of intuition. The Tantric Ajna or Brow chakra has two petals, is associated with the tattwa of Manas or Mind (not to be confused with the Manas-Chakra), which is beyond even the most subtle elements (although still part of embodied existence). It is said to be white in colour. More recently in Western occult and New Age thought the Ajna chakra has been identified with the "third eye" (eye of psychic vision), and other such concepts not found in the original Tantrika system.
The Ajna Chakra, or third eye, is linked to the pineal gland. Ajna is the chakra of time and awareness and of light. The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland, that produces the hormone melatonin, which regulates the instincts of going to sleep and awakening. It also produces trace amounts of the psychedelic chemical dimethyltryptamine.

The Throat Chakra is situated in the throat . The throat chakra, Vishuddha, is said to be related to communication and growth, growth being a form of expression. This chakra is paralleled to the thyroid, a gland that is also in the throat, and which produces thyroid hormone, responsible for growth and maturation.

The heart chakra, Anahata, is related to love, equilibrium, and well-being. It is related to the thymus, located in the chest. This organ is part of the immune system, as well as being part of the endocrine system. It produces T cells responsible for fighting off disease, and is adversely affected by stress. It is also believed to be the seat of emotions.

The solar plexus chakra, Manipura, is related to energy, assimilation and digestion, and is said to correspond to the roles played by the pancreas and the outer adrenal glands, the adrenal cortex. These play a valuable role in digestion, the conversion of food matter into energy for the body.

The sacral chakra, Swadhisthanna, is located in the groin, and is related to emotion, sexuality and creativity. This chakra is said to correspond to the testes or the ovaries, that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle, which can cause dramatic mood swings.

The base or root chakra, Muludhara, is related to security, survival and also to basic human potentiality. It is said the kundalini lies coiled here, ready to uncoil and bring man to his highest spiritual potential in the crown chakra. This center is located in the region between the genitals and the anus. Although no endocrine organ is placed here, it is said to relate to the inner adrenal glands, the adrenal medulla, responsible for the fight and flight response when survival is under threat. In this region is located a muscle that controls ejaculation in the sexual act. A parallel is drawn between the sperm cell and the ovum, where the genetic code lies coiled, and the legendary kundalini, ready to express itself as a fully developed human being.

Anyone familiar with chakra balancing?

March 06, 2010

Lately, I’ve done some reading on balancing the chakras, but I have never actually worked with them. Because of the way I’ve been feeling lately, I believe my root chakra is weak.. Does anyone know any ways I can work on this myself? Or do I have to find someone more experienced to work with me?

Or if anyone just knows some good books/sites on this subject that they’d like to share, that’s greatly appreciated too!

Thanks:)

I am not quite sure what you are feeling like I do know that in the past I have used a technique called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Tapping it is a blend of ancient chinese acupuncture (except you tap certain meridian points instead of using needles) and western pshychology. You can watch a video they have here http://m0a.org I hope this helps I know it has done alot for me, a friend recommended it and I asked my doctor and she had heard of it and said that she had heard alot of good things about it. So I hope it helps you as much as it has me.
