Does one REALLY need an instructor for transcendental meditation?

Most of these courses cost like £500 and I think they are just making it all into a business to get rich…

Can I not just randomly chose my own mantra from a list and do it? I am used to doing other types of meditation so I don’t think I need someone to tell me what to do? Hmm thanks – do you know where I can get a list of mantras? And what technique is used? No, you do not need an instructor. Meditation is individual and unique. There are no ‘rules’ to it. Only people place rules where there are none to begin with. If they want to give you rules and structure, ‘techniques,’ then it is no longer meditation.

You don’t have to close your eyes while meditating. Keeping your eyes open means that you are accepting the world "as is" and are willing to see it and to embrace it and work with . . . → Read More: Does one REALLY need an instructor for transcendental meditation?

Why do Christians not understand meditation and spirituality?

They think stuff like meditation or chanting or beating drums are from the devil. And trying to listen to your inner spirit is considered witchcraft and weird shit. Scooterpoop, you’re retarded. If you don’t think meditation does anything, I know right now that you’ve never in your life tried it and committed to seeing what it can do. You’re ignorant and your parents must be ashamed. If you give meditation a chance, you wouldn’t have to make shit up to explain your views to people. If they don’t understand it, it’s of the devil. Welcome to Christianity.

@Scooterpoop: You’re the perfect example. You can meditate and be a Christian and Christianity IS spirituality you tool. Arrogant people who think they’re intellectuals and know very little are quite tiring.

What are the practical guidlines to live a long life, centenarian?

Please include the physical, mental and spiritual factors that may contribute to be a centenarian. I plan to be a centenarian but I don’t think my mind will be up to it because of the alzheimers factor among others. Plenty of exercise & a very good diet. See if your Dr. recomends any vitamins or minerals. Excersise, keeps the brain alert,as so does your spirituality. So go to church & keep active in that manner. You could also read books on self motivation. Joyce Meyers & Rev.Dr. Creflo Dollar have writtansome very good books. You can get them from their websites.

How can you ENJOY life when you are caught-up in the MAD RUSH of responsibilities?

i read alot of spiritual books that talk about slowing-down and enjoying life!! and exactly WHEN am i suppose to FIND that time? work, cook, clean…… all i do is move, move, move!! i am grateful; i still would like to slow down! Finding time is not easy in any way. It seems as though when you start clearing out your schedule to make personal time more things pop up.

First off if you need personal time it does not have to be copious amounts of time. You just need to make 5 minutes out of each hour to do something for yourself. Take a walk, enjoy a nice cold beverage, read a good article, research something interesting on the internet. Anything that will give you a moment. You will be surprised how these moments add up. Plus by thinking of these moments as yours it encourages you to remember to live in that moment and take time out. . . . → Read More: How can you ENJOY life when you are caught-up in the MAD RUSH of responsibilities?

Which is better a pilates class or a yoga class?

My sister and I want to take either a Pilate’s class or a yoga class. Neither one of us are overweight we both just want to tone up more. Those of you how have some pilates/yoga experience which would you recommend ? Well, basically yoga is more spiritual and calming, so great for de-stressing. Pilates involves machines and so forth, so can be a bit more rigorous and possibly not as enjoyable. But they do the same thing.

Have fun!

What is the main difference between a spiritual person and a religious person?

The religion doesn’t matter. And when I say spiritual I don’t mean those psychics, witchcraft, tarot, satanists, or palm reading. a spiritual person has a connection with their inner soul and god a religious person just goes to church and that’s it there is more you can say about it but that is the main difference

Do you sometimes find quieter, reserved people to be more authentic than?

people that are ‘out there’ from the get go? Like more genuine, more spiritual, more other centred even if they are insecure too? I am biased as reserved and introverted person, but I feel that outgoing people are more about doing whatever it takes to get attention because they crave it like a drunk craves alcohol.

The Tybro Spiritual Energy Center

The new spiritual energy center that we will demonstrate in our new workshop will give me the ability to show the public a number of energy systems that are relevant to spiritual, mental, emotional, financial, and physical health. As we view these systems, we will be able to make recommendations that will potentially alleviate the conditions of suffering, loss, and illness that are related to imbalances in the energy forms affecting the body.

By using our new Clairvoyant Medical Technology in the workshop, we will finally be able to depict the following energy systems with accuracy:

Aura Analysis: We will demonstrate the color, intensity, and strength of the human aura. We will also demonstrate the presence of aura anomalies, attaching spirits, fissures, cracks, and areas of shock.

Organ Vitality Analysis: We will demonstrate the color, health, and overall degree of vitality of each of the major organ systems in the body. The special energy graphing systems that we have discovered . . . → Read More: The Tybro Spiritual Energy Center

Where can i get a good chakra balanching in Miami Fl?

A place or person that does chakra healing, guided meditation, reiki, etc Not many places where you and I live teach it but try reading " Essential Reiki: A Complete Guide to an Ancient Healing Art " by Diane Stein. She puts in her book many things that are supposed to be kept secret about Reiki. For meditation try reading "Awaken healing energy though the tao". Also you might want to look for a tai chi school to because many people who practice tai chi also practice many types of meditation, so after a few lessons in tai chi when you are good Friends with the instructor you can ask them about whether they know meditation techniques. More than likely they will. And if they don’t you can always learn though books. Good luck. I hope you find what you are looking for.

How can I get started with meditation?

I have no experience with meditation, so I wanna know how I can get started with it. Are there are any good guided meditation CDs or anything of the sort? Before we start meditation yoga… we need understanding the meaning of meditation yoga! What you refer is termed as yoga exercises… more particularly yogic exercises! The essence of yogic exercises lay in the fact that for indulgence in meditation yoga… maintaining a healthy body is necessitated! For maintaining a healthy body… indulgence in yogic exercises is a must!

There is no dearth of material available on Internet related to yogic exercises. One need not necessarily purchase a CD.

Meditation yoga means travelling path of inner self… your soul atman the spirit within! A soul is termed atman in Hinduism. Yoga is termed meditation in English. Yoga originated from root word yog which in Hindi means process of yoking between the two. The effort of soul atman to merge with greater . . . → Read More: How can I get started with meditation?

Why are humans so obsessed with the fleeting pleasures of sin over spiritual enlightenment?

I don’t understand this. Humans seem to place more value on futile thing slike vehichles, marriage, shallow happiness etc over things which really matter. Listening to the music of today, all that’s emphasized upon is living a life to satisfy your fleshly lusts. This ofcourse leads to a terribly unhappy life because the more you see, the more you want. It’s all futile.

Since I truly found out about the one true God, he has enlightened me on quite a lot. Although I rebelled against him quite a few times, followed the lies of evil spirits and all, he stilled bear with me. He taught me that to be happy in life all you need to do is be humble, want not, and obey/love him. That is it. True happiness doesn’t come from wanting, but being content with who you are and what you have. Andrew, Catholicism is a false religion. Perhaps you need to see it in a slightly . . . → Read More: Why are humans so obsessed with the fleeting pleasures of sin over spiritual enlightenment?
