Does Chakra Healing Meditation Work?

Hello, I’ve heard that chakra healing meditation worked but I was just curious to other people out there who may have tried it. Should I give it a try? How was your experience? Mostly it’s BS just made up by new age types but there is a basis for it in reality. You can try it for yourself here http://www.freemeditation.com/.

Any meditation where they are asking you to imagine things is just that- imagination. It has to work independently of your beliefs or projections. It isn’t something to believe in, that is just pointless. You have to be able to experience the evidence one way or the other.

What is the Hindu spiritual perspective on healing?

I am studying to be a counselor and am trying to learn about how people of other faiths approach healing and health care. I appreciate any help you can provide regarding these questions. How to people of the Hindu faith approach healing for illness? What are the critical components for healing (meditation, prayers, etc.)? Would the same apply for addiction counseling and treatment? Is there anything that would be important for a health care provider of a different faith to know? What is the perception of health care providers from different faiths who put their own beliefs aside to put patients needs first? 1. Healing is considered to be a side-effect of Spiritual processes. It is not the aim of Spiritual endeavor called Yoga.

2. "Shariaramadyam khalu dharma saadhanam" – All the spiritual endeavor starts from a healthy body. Hence good health is considered as a tool to go further into deeper spiritual experience, awareness, which is very relaxing to . . . → Read More: What is the Hindu spiritual perspective on healing?

Do you believe in the healing powers of prayer and meditation?

For those of you familiar with Esther Sternberg, she, along with many other specialists, proposes that the act of ‘feeling spiritual’ may play a large role in mental health. This theory would suggest that the Bible Belt would contain the happiest and mentally healthiest people. However, according to the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, the most stressful states were found in the Southeast, including Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and other states located in the Bible Belt. Seeing as how many studies have proven a correlation between prayer/meditation and mental health, what else could account for the mental state of these religious areas? Is it that religiosity does not necessarily denote spirituality, or could this be assigned to another variable, such as poverty? The subject of my question regards mental health, not physical well-being. People who neglect to seek proper health care for their children because of a belief in a higher power do not apply to my question. Additionally, the question does . . . → Read More: Do you believe in the healing powers of prayer and meditation?

I’m no expert but a few short sentences may help you gain some insight.

What is it called when you believe in healing crystals, meditation, astrology, etc?

I’m not sure there is a formal name, but I call it New Age BS.

Well, meditation can be very useful, but I suppose you mean spirituality that is separate from religion. When you are told that something only works if you believe in it, it’s probably a fraud. Or a placebo.

What philosophical and/or spiritual books do you guys recommend?

I am really into philosophy and spirituality. What books related to these topics would you recommend? Its just for my own reading pleasure, so I’d appreciate it! Thanks in advance I have read hundreds and hundreds of books, my very favorite are Seth Speaks by Jane Roberts, the Urantia Book, Ramtha, Return of the Bird Tribes, and Ra by Ken Carey, Conversations with God series by Neale Donald Walsch, the Autobiography of a Yogi, by Parahamansa Yogananda, Cosmic Memory by Rudolf Steiner, Journeys out of the Body, by Robert Monroe, last ones I read aren’t really about spirituality, but kinda so, The montauk Project by Preston Nichols and Peter Moon, and the whole series of books they wrote, about time travel and ufo’s…you can also search on your search engine the Montauk Project and click on Project Superman…

What is some beneficial music for meditation, inner peace, and healing?

I don’t listen to actual music when I meditate. I listen to nature noises such as water tickling down a river or whale calls. It’s a lot less distracting. I get them off of iTunes.
